Field Hearing in Pennsylvania: Impact of U.S. Trade Policies on Small Businesses and Manufacturing

On Monday, April 2, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. the Committee on Small Business Subcommittee on Agriculture, Energy and Trade will hold a hearing entitled Impact of U.S. Trade Policies on Small Businesses and Manufacturing. The hearing will begin at 10:00 A.M. on April 2, 2012 at the Pittsburgh Technology Council located at 2000 Technology Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
According to Census data, the United States exported over $2.1 trillion in 2011, or 14 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP). Small businesses play a large role in exports, as they account for nearly 98 percent of all identified exporters. This hearing will examine the impact of international trade policies on small manufacturers, while also identifying best practices to promote domestic exports.
