House Small Business Committee Ranking Member Sam Graves on President's Small Business Lending Plan
House Small Business Committee Ranking Member Sam Graves (R-MO), issued the following statement today on the White House’s proposal to spend $30 billion on a new small business lending plan:
“After a year in office, the administration has finally decided to focus on creating jobs. Unfortunately, the President’s announcement today appears to be more of the same. This proposal comes one day after the President submitted a budget to Congress with too much spending, too many taxes and a huge increase in the national debt.
I hear from small business owners across the country that there is too much uncertainty. The uncertainty has been brought about by Washington policies that do not allow our entrepreneurs to plan for the purchase of new equipment, hire new workers or produce more products. Our small business owners need to know that this administration will stop raising taxes and stop proposing additional mandates. These innovators need an environment that will allow them to grow and create jobs not be restrained by the whims of Washington.”
