Feb 1, 2011 -
House Small Business Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) announced today that Representative Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) will chair the Subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce.
“Mick Mulvaney’s experience as owner and operator of several small businesses has given him a deep understanding of the challenges entrepreneurs face in the 21st century,” said Chairman Graves. “I am pleased that he will lead this important Subcommittee as we work to improve federal contracting programs and review government policies that affect the workforce.”
Upon being named Subcommittee Chairman, Rep. Mulvaney stated, “As Chairman of the Contracting and Workforce subcommittee, I plan to push back against the President’s current policy of insourcing, which unnecessarily increases the size and spending of the federal government. I am also committed to making sure that government contracting rules and procedures are not unfairly biased against small businesses.”
At this time, the Republican members of the Subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce include:
- Chairman Mick Mulvaney
- Rep. King (R-IA)
- Rep. Coffman (R-CO)
- Rep. West (R-FL)
- Rep. Landry (R-LA)
- Rep. Ellmers (R-NC)
