House Small Business Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) today released the following statement regarding the April jobs report:

“This week, we’ve received some contrasting news on the state of the economy and jobs. The economy nearly came to a standstill last quarter at just 0.1 percent growth. However, today’s jobs report has some encouraging signs, but shows that many Americans have stopped looking for jobs or left the workforce altogether. Whether it’s playing politics with the Keystone pipeline, slashing workweeks and take home pay under ObamaCare, or the EPA’s power grab at the expense of small businesses and farmers, President Obama’s policies are placing heavy burdens on small businesses and stifling growth.”
