In 2016, according to the Small Business Administration, there were 29 million small businesses. Every one of those businesses requires access to affordable and reliable energy. Without it, it is virtually impossible to maintain a successful operation.
While current energy costs are relatively reasonable, history has shown how volatile the energy industry can be. It is imperative to small businesses, and must be a priority of Congress, that this climate of affordable and reliable energy continues. In doing so, Congress must maximize domestic energy production, employing all domestic resources, including coal, oil, natural gas, hydro and nuclear power, wind, solar, and renewable fuel sources, while minimizing the regulatory burden imposed on the energy industry. These efforts will help maintain affordable energy costs while vastly increasing the reliability of domestic energy.
