Chairman Graves Commemorates 50th Annual National Small Business Week

Washington D.C., June 14, 2013 -

Next week, June 17-21, will mark the 50th annual National Small Business Week, a federally recognized time to celebrate the contributions of small businesses to the economic well-being of America.  Republican Members of the House Small Business Committee will celebrate small firms by holding a special hearing on American manufacturing and hosting small business roundtables and events in Washington D.C. and in their districts across America.

“The 50th annual National Small Business Week is an important time for our nation to recognize the vital importance of small firms to the health and growth of our national economy,” said Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO). “It is important that we praise our nation’s entrepreneurs for their risk, dedication and hard work. Although our Committee focuses on the needs of small companies every week, we will hold a special hearing on American manufacturing next week, inviting small business owners to Congress to share their stories and outline what Washington should do to help their companies grow and create jobs. America’s nearly 30 million small businesses are the engines of job creation and the lifeblood of our nation’s economy. America’s economy will only go as far as our small businesses will take them.”

In addition to hosting small business events, Republican Members of the Committee will write special columns about the “state of small business” throughout the week.
