WASHINGTON – Earlier this week, the MetLife & U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index recorded the highest optimism score since the creation of the index.

According to the Q3 index:

  • 38 percent of minority-owned small businesses plan on hiring in the future.
  • One in three veteran-owned small businesses plans to increase investment in the next year.
  • 56 percent of small business owners are optimistic about their local economy.

“Small businesses continue to be a strong driver of our nation’s economy. This recent data shows the positive results of our pro-growth policies for Main Street businesses,” said House Committee on Small Business Ranking Member Steve Chabot (R-OH).
