ICYMI: MetLife & U.S. Chamber of Commerce Index Shows Record High Small Business Optimism

Washington, December 5, 2019

WASHINGTON – Released yesterday, the MetLife & U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index fourth quarter report showed an all-time high in overall optimism among American small business owners.

According to the Q4 report: 

  • Overall optimism reached 71.3, up 0.6 points, the highest score since the survey’s inception in 2017
  • 59 percent of small business owners say their local economic outlook is good
  • 83 percent feel comfortable with their cash flow

“These outstanding numbers show that small business owners continue to expand their businesses and contribute to their communities in this robust economy,” said House Committee on Small Business Ranking Member Steve Chabot (R-OH).
