Ranking Member Luetkemeyer and Rep. Kim Host Roundtable on Small Business Lending and Economic Headwinds

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ranking Member Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) and Rep. Young Kim (R-CA) issued the following statement on Friday’s Small Business Roundtable on Small Business Lending:

“Whether it is elevated price levels, supply chain disruptions, or a difficulty in finding workers, Main Street continues to feel the brunt of these tough economic headwinds. Due to this inflation crisis, Americans are living in an increased interest rate environment, impacting lenders and borrowers alike. Washington needs to enact pro-growth solutions, not pursue radical policymaking during an economic recession,” said Ranking Member Luetkemeyer. The American economy works best when small business owners are free of government intervention and allowed to do business as they see fit.”

“Small business owners are feeling the impacts of higher inflation, supply chain issues and labor shortages. The Biden administration’s policies expanding the federal government’s overreach is causing even more economic uncertainty for our local communities,” said Rep. Young Kim. “I’m grateful to Ranking Member Luetkemeyer and California and Florida bankers for joining the Small Business Committee for a productive conversation on the challenges facing small businesses and ways to improve access to capital for Main Street America. I’m proud to stand with our entrepreneurs and will keep fighting to make their voices heard, reduce burdensome regulations and increase access to capital they need to achieve their dream and thrive.”
