On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. the Committee on Small Business conducted a hearing titled The Tax Outlook for Small Businesses: What’s on the Horizon?. The hearing was held in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
Tax season reminds us that small businesses are disproportionately affected by tax compliance. For small business owners, tax rates can drive business decisions. Higher tax rates can mean that small firms have less capital to create jobs and invest back in their companies. Small companies can also be adversely affected by tax paperwork and recordkeeping requirements.
