Digital Divide: Expanding Broadband Access to Small Businesses

On Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 1:00 P.M., the Committee on Small Business conducted a hearing titled, Digital Divide: Expanding Broadband Access to Small Businesses. The hearing was held in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
The purpose of the hearing was to examine the role of the federal government in expanding broadband access to small businesses in the United States. Specifically, the Committee heard from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of the Department of Commerce, and the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) of the United States Department of Agriculture on the status of current broadband programs and the overall strategy to expand broadband capabilities to small businesses.
