Sequestration: The Threat to Small Businesses, Jobs, and the Industrial Base

On Thursday, September 20, 2012, at 1:00 P.M., the Committee on Small Business conducted a hearing titled, Sequestration: The Threat to Small Businesses, Jobs, and the Industrial Base. The hearing was held in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The purpose of the hearing was to review the probable effects of sequestration on small business contractors and the industrial base. Specifically, the Committee received testimony as to how small businesses will be affected by cuts to the federal workforce, prime contracts and subcontracts if those cuts are not properly targeted. The hearing also examined how these losses will affect employment and the health of our industrial base.
