Energy

Energy policy in the United States impacts everyone, including small businesses. In fact, roughly one third of small businesses list energy costs as one of their top three businesses expenses.  Considering 99.9 percent of all business in the United States are classified as small, the impact that energy policy has on both the business community and the American economy cannot be understated.

It is imperative to small businesses, and must be a priority of Congress, to ensure that small firms across the country have access to affordable and reliable energy. In doing so, Congress must maximize domestic energy production, employing all domestic resources, including coal, oil, natural gas, hydro and nuclear power, wind, solar, and renewable fuel sources, while minimizing the regulatory burden imposed on the energy industry. These efforts will help ensure affordable energy costs while vastly increasing the reliability of domestic energy.
